Wisdom of Expert Crowds: the FoodSafeR Open Digital Hub anticipating emerging risks in food safety

On 3 June 2026, the EFF-CoP, in collaboration with the FoodSafeR Project, successfully hosted an online webinar dedicated to emerging food safety risks, digital innovation, traceability, and food fraud prevention.

The webinar introduced the FoodSafeR Open Digital Hub and demonstrated how expert knowledge, collaborative intelligence, and digital technologies can support the anticipation and monitoring of emerging risks in food safety systems. The discussion also highlighted the importance of innovative digital tools in strengthening traceability, improving transparency, and enhancing food fraud detection across the agri-food chain.

The session featured José Pluma, Digital Specialist at IRIS Technology Solutions, who presented the vision and functionalities of the FoodSafeR Open Digital Hub and shared insights into how digital ecosystems can contribute to safer and more resilient food systems.

EFF-CoP would like to warmly thank all participants for joining the webinar and contributing to the discussion on the future of food safety and integrity in Europe.
