On 21 October 2026, EFF-CoP organised an online webinar entitled “From Weak Signals to Prevention: Anticipating Food Integrity Risks Before They Become Incidents.”

The webinar featured Carolina Ruiz Olivos, Founder & Executive Director of INNOCUITY, a food engineer and senior food industry professional with nearly 30 years of experience in food safety, quality, operations, auditing and training.

Drawing on her extensive professional background, Carolina explored why food integrity risks often remain invisible in everyday operations and the importance of identifying weak signals before they escalate into incidents.

The session addressed several practical questions, including the warning signs most frequently overlooked in food operations, the potential gaps between audit findings and operational realities, and the challenges that prevent organisations from acting on early concerns.

Following the expert presentation, a moderated discussion explored how industry professionals, researchers and regulators could strengthen collaboration to recognise and connect these signals earlier. The webinar concluded with an interactive Q&A session, providing an opportunity for further discussion and knowledge exchange.

Organised within EFF-CoP's WP5 activities, coordinated by REZOS Brands, the webinar contributed to the project's ongoing efforts to bring together expertise, encourage dialogue and support more proactive approaches to food fraud prevention and food integrity.
