The joint webinar “Safeguarding Food Security in Europe: EU projects join forces against fraud, cyber and CBR threats” took place online on 31 March 2026 💻, bringing together four EU-funded projects: EFF-CoP, ACT4FOOD, SecureFood, and DEFENSEFOOD.

The event focused on the growing and interconnected risks affecting food security in Europe 🌍, including food fraud ⚠️, cyber and cyber-physical threats 🔐, and chemical, biological, and radiological (CBR) hazards ☣️. It highlighted how these challenges impacted food availability, safety, integrity, and overall system resilience.

Participants explored key challenges to food system resilience 🛡️ and examined how different threat vectors interacted. The webinar showcased complementary approaches from the participating projects, each addressing different dimensions of food security—from fraud prevention and cybersecurity to governance and crisis preparedness.

The session included project presentations 📊 followed by a roundtable discussion 🗣️, where experts discussed shared challenges, gaps, and opportunities for collaboration. The event concluded with a live Q&A session ❓, allowing participants to engage directly with experts and reflect on joint priorities and policy messages for strengthening Europe’s food security.
